Bradley steps in to fight Downie here before Ovechkin gets a chance. Earlier in the game, Ovechkin tried to fight Downie and the refs stepped in before it could get started.
Ovechkin is going to get pissed soon and just start swinging at someone. OV is one of the biggest guys in the league; he would probably win any fight.
I suppose Bradley was looking out for his snipers hands…

Based on the fact that he is listed 233 lbs, but is more like 240-245 lbs since he has put on weight this season.
I’m not saying he would take down Brashear, Orr, Laraques, or any of the other heavyweight who’s only use is fighting. But I would bet on Ovechkin to take down 90% of the average NHLers.
If he were to fight Downie, Ott, Avery, Neil, or any other “fighter” who isnt a heavyweight; Ovechkin could and probably would easily win.
If he took any of that aggression he puts into hits into one of his punches, I bet he is a tough guy.
Mario Lemieux was a big dude too and i saw him get his ass beat several times… Just cause a guy is big doesn’t mean that he can fight, Ovechkin has never dropped the gloves in his NHL career… If he doesn’t know how to throw a bunch he’ll probably end up hurting himself more than the other guy…
