Mike Richards knocks David Krejci out of the Playoffs…

Per NHL.com:

For the second time in their Eastern Conference Semifinal series against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Boston Bruins have lost a top-six forward to a season-ending injury.

Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli revealed that center David Krejci will miss the remainder of the playoffs due to a dislocated right wrist. Krejci had surgery to repair the injury following the game at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.

Chiarelli said Krejci should be fully healthy for training camp in September.

The injury occurred less than five minutes into Game 3. As Krejci was receiving a pass out of the Bruins’ zone, Philadelphia captain Mike Richards leveled Krejci with a hard, clean, open-ice check. Krejci skated off under his own power, but did not return to the game.

In nine playoff games, Krejci had 4 goals and 8 points, and had been centering Boston’s best line, flanked by Miroslav Satan and Milan Lucic. He also quarterbacked the top power-play unit and was killing penalties.

Krejci joins Marco Sturm on the sideline. Sturm was lost for 4-6 months after tearing two knee ligaments on the first shift of Game 1.

The Bruins won Game 3, 4-1, to take a 3-0 series lead. Game 4 is Friday (7 p.m., VERSUS, TSN, RDS) at the Wachovia Center.
