Who would win it for each team? Or who is the main reason why their team is in the Conference Finals right now?
Chicago Blackhawks:
Patrick Kane – This was between Kane and Martin Havlat for me. Havlat has played amazing so far, but for this Blackhawks team to succeeed, their young guns need to earn that valuable “experience” that is thrown around all of the time. I believe Patrick Kane is stepping up to the plate.
Detroit Red Wings:
Johan Franzen – I’m going to start calling him Mr. Playoff. This guy is an absolute monster come playoff time. Even if he sucks all season, he is worth all of the millions come playoff time. This is the second year in a row he is leading his Red Wings through each series. God help the Blackhawks if Hossa and Datsyuk start playing….
Pittsburgh Penguins:
Sidney Crosby – Sidney is on pace to break the NHL Playoffs scoring record. He has 12 goals currently and the record in 19. There is a good chance that if he keeps going at this pace in the playoffs, the “Best player in the world” title might go back to him.
Alexander Ovechkin is amazing, but is only a scorer. The guy has no passing ability (probably because of his small curve) and no defensive ability. Evgeni Malkin is a much more rounded player, but is nowhere near the leader Sidney is. Pavel Datsyuk is amazing all around and I think similar to Crosby on all aspects of the ice, but where has been all playoffs?
Sidney is stepping up the plate and shutting up all of his critics…
Carolina Hurricanes:
Cam Ward – Not much to be said here. He is the obvious choice from the Hurricanes and is proving why he is 4 for 4 in Game 7′s. Just like some of the above players, he steps it up when it counts. Cam Ward is playing out of his mind in these playoffs and his Hurricanes just knocked off two teams that were better than them and find themselves in the Conference Finals and will most likely be the underdogs again.
Dumbestcomments about ovie I’ve ever seen, he plays defense quite a bit! His passing is very good!! The argument has been ovie gets more goals than assists, look at crosbys numbers in the playoffs…..enough said, maybe you should watch hockey before u try and analyze it’s players….
Obviously Matt is a disgruntled Capitals fan who still is mad about the way their season ended.
AO rarely ever plays defense and that is not even arguable.
His passing is good; I guess I didnt mean to say it wasnt. I meant to say his passing is basically non-existent, because he rarely ever passes. He only does when it is his last option or on the PP because he has to.
There is nothing wrong with AO having more goals than assists, but he is a very one dimensional player who only looks to score…..like I said there is nothing wrong with that.
But Crosby is a more complete player. And what are you babbling about Crosby’s numbers in the playoffs? Because he has more goals than assists?
News flash to Matt….Crosby is on pace to shatter the playoff goals and points records…..enough said.
Go look at Crosbys regular season numbers and even last years playoff number and come back and try to argue that again.
