Let’s wait for Don Cherry to cry about these skates. I’m am sure he hates it, and will trash talk Ove as usual. He hates all hockey players that are not from either the US or Canada. He said it himself. Meanwhile had it been his darling Sid the kid, AKA “cry baby Crosby” that painted his skates it would have been an act of genius.
The Skates are certainly different however they don’t win games and as we know it’s the gold that matters. Further more for those who don’t like Don Cherry can kiss my East Coast ass. The fact of the matter is he is one rare Canadian that speaks up and says what’s on his mind. And good bad or otherwise he is always proud to be a Canadian. That said let’s worry a little less about the O.V’s Skates and lets be proud to be Canadian. And for those that I may offended I have two words for you. Pucker Up!
I love ovi, don’t get me wrong, but the whole painted skates and that little break he took picking a stick is a little over the edge. He’s a superstar, he doesn’t need gimmicks.
I obviously love Ovie and his skates. But you have to think that CCM encouraged him to paint them. So many close-ups of his CCM skates plastering the internet is priceless publicity…that they probably paid a price for.
