Olli Jokinen! We all know he is good but I doubt anyone predicted that he would rack up 2 goals in his first game. He is playing with Jarome Iginla which is down right scary. Olli Jokinen has never played with anyone of that caliber. Shane Doan was the only one and the chemistry just was not there. Goal 1 is above this and Goal 2 is right below.
Now we are off to Nik Antropov/Derek Morris/Sean Avery deal for the New York Rangers. I expect this to be a boost for the New York Rangers giving them some grit and depth to all aspects of their team. Granted they played the New York Islanders who are the worst team in the league, but they still looked good for basically a brand new team thrown together.
Nik Antropov looked the best. He looks like that piece that the Rangers are missing on the offensive end. Sean Avery looked like a toned down, but still very gritty Avery who had a few good scoring chances. Derek Morris looked nervous at first but came into his own and even saw some Power Play time.
I would not want to run into the Rangers in the first round if I am any of the top seeds in the East. Here are the highlights:
