Steven Stamkos scored his first career Hat Trick last night. The 2nd goal was a true snipe!
Anyways, most people expected Stamkos to jump out of the gate like Crosby and Ovechkin did as a fellow first overall pick. But Stamkos was just not “NHL ready.” He just wasn’t big enough and arguably had the wrong coach behind him in Barry Melrose.
So fast forward about 5 months since the start of the season and we see a Steven Stamkos who was kept out of the lineup in order to focus on a workout regiment and there has been a change in the coaching for the Lightning. Now he is receiving more ice time and Power Play minutes.
I think this is the start of the Steven Stamkos everyone expected as the # 1 overall pick from the 2008 NHL Draft.
Calm down a bit. Stamkos has alot more to do before he gets to where he should be. John Sim has had hat tricks. Nuff said.
