Can Evgeni Malkin finish off the best individual season ever?
By admin | June 17, 2009
Evgeni Malkin has a chance at topping off the best individual season ever in terms of trophies. Here are the potential trophies going home to Mr. Malkin:
Conn Smythe - Playoff MVP: Already won by Evgeni Malkin
Hart - Regular Season MVP: Between Alexander Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin.
Art Ross - Regular Season Points Leader: Already won by Evgeni Malkin.
Prince of Wales Trophy - Eastern Conference Champions: Already given to Malkin’s Pittsburgh Penguins.
Lester B Pearson - Regular Season MVP voted by the Players: Between Alexander Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin.
Stanley Cup - Already awarded to Malkin’s Pittsburgh Penguins.
Unfortunately I do not think he has a chance at the Lester B Pearson award since they have leaked the votes already and Ovechkin has already won the award. He still has a slim chance at the Hart even though I think AO will get that as well. We will see though…..
So you’re telling me there’s a chance?

the votes that were leaked were for The Sporting News awards, but they poled the players and the owners, so presumably ovechkin will win that also… And for all I care he can have all the other ones, Malkin got the one that matters…
