Lindy Buffalo Sabres extend head coach Lindy Ruff...

Per NHL.com:

The longest-tenured coach in the National Hockey League is staying put.

During an end-of-season press conference on Friday, new Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula announced that coach Lindy Ruff has signed a multi-year contract extension with the club.

Ruff has coached the Sabres for the past 13 seasons, leading them to the Stanley Cup Final in 1999 and most recently guiding them to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, where they were defeated by the Flyers.

In finishing with a 43-29-10 record, the Sabres became the first team since the 2008-09 Blues to overcome a double-digit point deficit to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Ruff, a former second-round pick who played most of his 12-year career for the Sabres, has a career coaching record of 526-418-132. He’s just the seventh coach in NHL history to win at least 400 games for the same team, and his 526 wins are tops among coaches with their first NHL team.

Congrats Lindy for the contract extension. I was happy to see you ink another deal behind the bench. OK here is some good rumours: trade Ryan Miller to Detroit for Helm and Howard with a draft pick or two. Trade Miller to Flyer to Carter and Carcillo.

13 years and very little to show for it. Time for a change if the want to make it past round 1.
