This goal was frickin incredible. Not only did Ovechkin have control the whole he made Henrik Tallinder look like an idiot, he then added the falling down effect to make the goal even better.
1. What the hell was Tallinder doing? The cardinal rule of defensemen is to watch the body of the puck carrier so he does not dangle you. What did Tallinder do? He basically said: “Alex, put the puck between my skates because I am going to swing at the best player in the world like a moron.”
2. What was Lalime doing? Granted I give him a pass for this just because it is Ovechkin, but the guy barely has control of the puck and is falling. Why did Lalime not just stack the pads and cover the bottom of the net? Like I said, it is Ovechkin, and it would not have surprised me if he somehow roofed the puck.
3. AO is amazing!
