Al Montyoa, who was originally a New York Ranger first round draft pick was recently traded to the Phoenix Coyotes and recorded a shutout in his first NHL game tonight!
Montoya was supposed to be the next great Ranger goalie until some guy named Henrik came out of left field as a 205th draft pick that caused Montoya to arguably never get a real shot at the reigns in New York and spend his Ranger career in the AHL with the Wolfpack.
Well, he was traded to Phoenix earlier this year and finally was given his chance in the NHL. I know it was against the Avalanche who I believe are fighting for the right to John Tavares, but a huge congratulations none the less to Al!
